Cia. Cabelo de Maria - The CD "Cantos de Trabalho" (working songs) appeared from the songs registered by Renata Mattar. The musician has been researching these working songs for more than ten years, recording, attending rituals and parties, learning verses and dances in many different places in the country. She's been searching for communities that still worked in "mutirão" (people who work in a mutual aid group for harvesting or house-building taking turns), and who make use of the music in their work. The result of these researches are in the CD released by Cia. Cabelo de Maria, under the direction of Renata Mattar. Read more in Cia. Cabelo de Maria's page.
Di Freitas - Francisco Ferreira de Freitas Filho, popular known as Di Freitas, was born in
Fortaleza, Ceará (Brazilian state), where he studied cello and classical guitar in Sesi, in the string musician formation centre.
